On Thursday, dispute resolution technology platform New Era ADR announced it has secured a strategic investment round led by Marquee Ventures, the venture capital fund spun out of the Chicago Cubs. Other investors in this round include Jai Shekhewat, founder of SAP Fieldglass, as well as number of leaders in the legal tech space, including OnDean, the family office of Relativity founder and former CEO Andrew Sieja, Jae Um, Haley Altman, Ed Sohn, and legal innovation accelerator LexFusion’s founding members Joe Borstein, Casey Flaherty and Paul Stroka.

The amount of the recent funding round was not disclosed. New Era ADR previously raised approximately $6.5 million across pre-seed and seed rounds, Rich Lee, CEO and co-founder of New Era ADR, told Legaltech News, and has not yet had to pursue a Series A round. “We were fortunate to be in a position to not need additional investment, but the opportunity to bring on [Sieja], other legal and tech leaders, and Marquee and its talent and network of their investors represented a collaboration we couldn’t pass up,” he said in the release.
