U.S. District Judge Sidney Stein of the Southern District of New York on Friday agreed to delay the bribery trial of U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, D-New Jersey, to May 13 to allow defense attorneys to review exhibits and witness material ahead of the trial.

Menendez and New Jersey businessmen Wael Hana and Fred Daibes were previously set to begin their trial on May 6, a date thrown into jeopardy this week as Daibes indicated he may insist on calling Hana’s lawyer Lawrence Lustberg of Gibbons PC as a trial witness.
