Christopher Edley Jr., the Honorable William H. Orrick Jr. Distinguished Professor at the University of California Berkeley School of Law, died on May 10. He was 71.
“It is with a very heavy heart that I am writing to inform you that our beloved colleague and former dean Chris Edley died on Friday morning,” Dean Erwin Chemerinsky wrote in a message to the Berkeley Law community on May 11, saying that Edley “had an amazing life and career, including being a transformative dean for Berkeley Law.”
